Techgravy Meetup – Sep 2017

Hola folks! So I started my journey with a lot other software development enthusiasts on the event of Techgravy Meet up – Sep 2017 organized by Kiprosh. The event had its inception with great arrangements, high-quality speakers and a warm welcome to the gathered people. It was an incredible ambience.

As the meetup unfolded, the discussion went through three topics, namely, ReactJS, Elixir and Functional Testing, with proficient speakers to elaborate them in a detailed fashion.

The first speaker, Puneet, explained Elixir to us. He explained how this dynamic and functional programming language is capable of building scalable and maintainable applications. He went such deep into details that after some point it was complicated for me to understand.

Then came Shoaib and ReactJS was his expertise. He went on describing the use of Mobx and Redux in ReactJS which is a Javascript library. It was a comprehensive speech but again a bit complicated.

The third speaker, Abhijeet, explained how their company has realized the significance of ReactJs in today’s world. They are dedicated to migrating the code of their projects from Jquery to ReactJS in a certain period of time. Since I had to hear it after a tummy full of lunch, a few parts of it flew over my head.

And last but not the least, Danish, demonstrated the details of Functional testing. He elaborated a UI testing tool for delivering bug-free web applications, called as Trinity Radar. It records screens while browsing website making the testing process easy. It’s a very handy tool for people who are into testing and can try this add-on on chrome.

Being a newbie at this meetup that has happened a few times before, I, with fellow newbies, requested Mr Rohan Daxini (Founder at Kiprosh) to have hands-on sessions for Reactjs and Elixir to which he agreed. Hence, we’re having the session in the next meetup probably after Diwali.

I had a remarkable experience overall and am really excited to ride this roller-coaster of fun and knowledge pretty soon again.
